Cube Package

I did this assignment in my digital art & design class called a Cube Package. For this assignment, I had to create one bigger cube and one smaller cube using Adobe Illustrator. I had to make the smaller cube small enough to fit inside the bigger cube. I made the cubes on Adobe Illustrator by creating templates for each cube and designing patterns on each template. When I was finished designing the templates, I printed them out, cut them, folded them, and glued them to make the cubes. I also created some cut outs on both cubes by using an X-ACTO knife. Lastly, I took photos of the cubes inside of a machine with a white background and bright lighting. I was able to take great quality photos using the machine and my iPhone.

The patterns I ended up creating for the cubes were playful, vibrant, and colorful. I got ideas for my patterns from the vector objects I created beforehand that allowed me to brainstorm ideas for my cubes. I included a lot of the vector objects I created into my patterns for both cubes. I decided to use darker colors for my bigger cube and lighter colors for my smaller cube. I also chose to make the patterns for my bigger cube more intricate than the patterns for my smaller cube. I made my bigger cube with darker colors and more intricate patterns to make my bigger cube stand out more.
